Lose permanent weight by making six small changes to your diet & lifestyle... Respect your body enough to make health changes that will last you a lifetime, which makes them among the most important decisions you’ll ever implement. The key is to stick to them. The good news is that these small diet changes can pay back big time in major health gains. 1. Eating healthy food is the first step... 80% Alkaline (greens & veggies) and only 20% Acidic (meat & potatoes) – read → ‘The pH Miracle’ by Robert O. Selections from each color group should be included in our daily diet. The best breakfast to eat is just fruit (read → ‘Fit for Life’) – 3 to 5 servings spread out over the morning – gives instant energy – takes almost no energy to digest – plenty fiber. 2. Eat several small meals a day... Usually, five or six will do the trick. Small meals are easily processed and utilized by the body, whereas larger meals sit stuck in the stomach for hours, turning into fat. Several smaller meals will rev-up your metabolism. 3. Bring food with you to work... There are plenty of foods that are easy to pack and will last throughout the day. Fruit, vegetables or a few nuts are far better for you than chocolate and is great to have on hand when you want that mid-afternoon snack. Bringing your lunch every day will not only save you money, but will also ensure you don’t succumb to the temptation of eating unhealthy foods from the dreaded vending machine. 4. Limit the amount you eat... Eat slowly, chew properly, allow your saliva to properly mix with the food, instead of washing it down with water. Eating slowly will also allow your brain to catch up with your stomach, sending the important full/satisfied signal. If you’re still hungry after one serving, fill up with free foods that are very low in calories like raw vegetables. 5. Drink plenty of Alkaline Water throughout the day... When you sit down to eat you should not be thirsty, having drunk plenty of alkaline water between meals. The body requires six to eight glasses of pure Alkaline Water each day (½ your body weight in ounces). Everything else you drink does not count towards this daily quota. While this may seem like a lot, if you space it out over several hours, you will find yourself easily drinking the required amount. How? By keeping → 2 large bottles of Alkaline Water on hand at all times. Take regular triple-sips throughout the day (at least every ½ hour). This will help your kidneys and every other organ function normally while flushing out toxins and other unwanted substances. This will also help you lose weight. Drinking the right amount of alkaline water is one small dietary change that will make a HUGE difference. 6. Exercise… Find something you can enjoy and stick with:- walking, dancing, cycling, aerobics, gym, swimming, a sport, etc. Do this exercise for at least 30 minutes, 3 days a week, in which you double your heart rate; 5 or 6 days a week is even better. Exercises that build muscle tone will also speed up your metabolism. Exercise counts for 20% in re-shaping your body – eating habits an food choices count for the other 80%. Exercise accomplishes two hidden essential bodily functions:- (i) it stirs your body’s water (i) and moves your lymphatic system (which has no pump like the heart does for the blood). You need to make yourself sweat to move the junk out of your body. Many years ago, before couches, computers & cars, this was a given for everyone – not today. So respect your body to exercise for life and longevity! Making these six small diet/lifestyle changes will take dedication, but the end result will be well worth it.
